It was a dangerous weekend on Sydney beaches with one man dead and another missing in two separate incidents.

A 23-year-old Toongabbie man who is believed to have jumped into the infamous blowhole at Warriewood Beach was pulled unconscious from the surf at around 10:00am on Saturday morning. He was unable to be revived.

Also on the Northern Beaches, Chris Drake, a 23-year-old man, has gone missing from North Curl Curl rockpool. It is believed that Mr Drake went missing after helping a young girl who was struggling in the rockpool as large waves crashed into it.

Tributes poured in for Mr Drake on social media with one saying Mr Drake “was an amazing person who has touched so many hearts. He was a true hero and will live on in our memories always.”
