TERREY HILLS — Myoora Road in Terrey Hills was closed due to a fatal car accident at around 6am on Sunday morning.
The car was suspected by police to be doing up to 150km/h when the driver, a 33 year old man, lost control of the high performance Nissan Skyline GTR and mounted the curb, then hitting a telegraph pole killing a woman passenger who was in the front seat.
The driver and another passenger had to be cut free from the wreckage and airlifted to hospital, one in a critical condition. It is unknown if they were street racing at the time of the accident.
Crash investigators had the road closed until around 1pm when they re-opened one lane while removing the car from the scene.
No more information is available at this stage.
